A Feng Shui Story
--- divider ---
On the occasion of Professor Lin Yun's 75th Birthday, his students, disciples and friends join to celebrate him and his leadership in sharing Black Sect Feng Shui in the west over the last twenty years. His senior disciple, Katherine Metz gathered stories from students of how his Feng Shui teachings had helped their clients. Below is a short story from Maxine Shivaya Manning.

Sharon, my client in Kona, Hawaii asked me to come for five days to help her move into her new condo on the Kailua coast. She had brought furniture from her Hilo home as well as many boxes from storage, including large pieces of sacred art. She loved the floor plan of the new condo with space for her Kwan Yin statues and art, but was challenged by a small front entry at ground level with a very long staircase going straight up to the second-floor living area.
We worked the first two days unpacking boxes to clear space to get through into the dining and living rooms and then set about to deal with the staircase. The ceiling over the entry was 12 feet high and there was a window above the door near the ceiling that let light into the stairwell. We unpacked more boxes and found three large paintings of appealing Hawaiian landscapes which we hung ascending up the hallway wall to beckon the chi on the upward climb. Next, we called her native gardener who worked at a nursery nearby to come to help. He cut a piece of live bamboo with the designated segments and hung three spectacular, large clear crystals on red thread along the bamboo. He created a triangle of special woven rope to secure the bamboo at both ends and got on his 12-foot ladder to place the cure. Sharon and I held our breath as we watched him maneuver up the ladder leaning on the steep stairs and then adjusted it so it balanced perfectly.
Then as if by magic, the sun came through the high window and hit the crystals and a rainbow of colors danced on the paintings and walls! We did our 3-secret reinforcement, said our prayers as he climbed safely down, and felt that we had all been blessed.
Thank you, Professor, for your inspiration and teachings. ~ Maxine Shivaya Manning
